Is this something that is found in Movie Edit Premium? I would consider Upgrading at some point in the future when I can, if more 'advanced' Effects like this are present in Premium You didn't say which version of MEP you have, but all since at least should have an effect similar to this one:.

The effect you speak of "old movie" is present, but that does not add Film Grain, unfortunately. Hi Jeff, yes it is present in Plus; but sadly it does not have any 'Film Grain' effects within it slightly odd, as other "old timey effects" in a couple other video editing programs have Grain, or similar additions, such as Dust, Scratches, etc. Anyway, I was wondering if I was missing any 'Film Grain' effect somewhere If it's not present in the Premium version either, that's OK - I can manually make one from generating some Static and using that at an overlay or utilize a helpful free 'grain overlay' from somewhere I was just wanting to make sure I didn't miss one that is already there.

Thanks though. I used it to make a video look as though it was going backwards from present day to similar to a Pathe News cinema newsreel. Maybe someday I'll be able to get the Premium version then - I look forward to trying it out - thanks for the heads-up, CubeAce! Yes, it's worth looking out for when it comes up at a discounted price. There are other templates and effects within MEP Premium which can also help if you have a creative attitude to experimentation.

For instance, with a little help from the program I'm sure I could make the video appear as if it was film coming off the sprockets in a projector. First, the difference between Plus and Premium is in the third party add-ons, not the program and built-in features, so remember that before purchasing. Sometimes Magix bundles third party add-ons plug-ins with Plus, so watch the Magix. MEP itself does not currently have a Grain feature as part of its tools. VPX does, with an effect called Add Noise.

I am seeking a special effect that may not be in iMovie It is the "rain" effect, or, what look like scratches in old movie footage.

I believe that iMovie 8 had this, but the latest versions deleted this. Do any of you know of a plug-in for doing this, or, if I can "back-install" to iMovie 8 to get what I need? Thanks to everyone.
